He's done!! He's so cute and pudgey! Forgive his "jaunty hat" and uneven ears, they're not actually, they're just wonky in the photo lol. And I was going to add a cotton panel to his back to be signed but I figured Momoi can just sign his hat or something instead? Probably his hat. Just means he's accurate as a prop, rather than having a big white patch on his back.

Many thanks to Shido who did a lot of handsewing on him to get him finished since we stuffed him too early - I'm awful at handsewing (though I did handsew his.. er.. face? XD). He's full of polystyrene beans so he makes a proper beanbag plush noise when you squidge him. Oh man.. I could rave forever.. he's just so cute!! An adorable perverted little prop.

As for Komugi herself, these are the things left to do before she's completely finished:

- START WORK ON HAT. <-- no.1 priority lol.
- Dye, style & make accessories for the wig. Need to order more wefts soon!!
- Finish dress; add poppers, fastening strip and add cuffs & buttons
- Finish bow & tail, and attach to dress
- Modify gloves & attach bangles
- Modify stripey panties .. lol .. no foolin'
- Make namebadge
- Make new petticoat (not a priority)
- Design makeup & decide what I'll be taking for it. Lol.

Sooooo... I think I should start the hat. Should I start the hat? I think I should. Ugh. Really difficult part! ;__;

At least once Komugi's done I can start work on my other costumes. Luke still needs that red button sewing..

Blagh Uni stuff, and fabulous Komugi facegay

The lipstick I ordered for Komugi arrived this morning! Partially out of curiosity, partially out of confusion of what else I'd wear, I ordered one of those funky Avon SpectraColor lipsticks from eBay from the USA to give it a try. They have them over here in the catalogue, but srsly, £10 for a lipstick that's $9.50 in the USA is a rip off :/ and they get 4 more colours too! Agdjsagf.

Anyhow I ordered one in "The Berries", a nice pinky colour without being too pink (lol) for like £5 including postage. Figured that even if I don't like it, it's not bad to spend £5 on a lipstick that's apparently 7 colours in one and it's not the most I've spent before on one. Turns out it's not actually all that bad! It's more like a gloss than a stick, but it's nicely pigmented - really nice mix of clear and colour. Applicator's a bit odd though. But it should do nicely for Komugi if I apply some sparkly gloss over the top? I'll have to experiment and see what'll be *kawaiii~* enough for it lol.

But anyway less about makeup more about life :|

I was ughh really really worried a couple days ago. I didn't post about it and tried to keep my head up and focused on other things cause I felt like I was in a gutter and didn't feel too sociable about it. I've been feeling like a failure a lot lately. In any case, apparently, I've been "referred" for this year at University and have to redo some work from this year. I asked my lecturers what I'd failed. And well, a bit of digging and investigating later, and it turns out it was for an essay done in JANUARY that nobody told me had any issues about it. It's been listed as a "non submission".

Thing is, I handed in the work, but somewhere it's got LOST in their office when they moved buildings. Or that certainly seems to be the case.

I'm gonna see what happens but otherwise, I've passed everything!! I know for a fact I've got 2 firsts this semester, wooooo!!, but I shall find out tomorrow or Saturday what all my results are. Lets hope I get some good luck X_______X;; haha... I probably should've dedicated myself more this year, but I put a lot of effort in regardless, so fingers crossed!!

Also Mugimaru is donnneee beside having his hat, tail, bow and feet sewed on. Oh and his butt sewn up lol. But everything is finished otherwise!! Eeee :D he's so cute. Pics when he's finished up!! I hope I can get Momoi to sign him at Aya.

Kind of flat, but.. taking shape! All he needs now is a) motifs sewn on, b) his green hat, c) his kawaii marks, d) his red bow and finally.. stuffing!

...Why isn't Mugimaru the kind of cosplay prop you can just buy ;_____; ???

Also. I've had a real bad rash on my legs the past couple weeks, it's been driving me nuts. Today I noticed I had another few rashes on my legs - seriously I thought something had been eating me from inside. Then I noticed.. wait a second.. those marks.. they're.. in the shape of stars??

They're damn pin cuts from where the motifs were sewn onto my Komugi socks!!

I sure as heck hope my legs heal by Aya. Ughh I can't imagine how embarassing having horrible rashy scabby legs would be for Luke. :|

As for life-y stuff, rather than cosplay stuff, I spent the weekend in Leicester for Loli's dad's birthday. Was a nice break away!
It's my birthday on Saturday this week too. Not really looking forward to it though? Ehh. I wish I had some money so I could actually enjoy myself, rather than worrying I'm just getting further into debt and that I'll have to pay for everything again, as it usually happens -_-

It started with some socks...~

I ordered some white over-knee socks last week. 80% cotton, 18% nylon, 2% lycra elastane. I also bought some multi-purpose Dylon dye. They became good friends.

They started like this...

Then I boiled them up in a pan..

Then I washed them..

And they were hung out to dry. I washed them again and then let them dry some more. And so today, fully dry and well dyed, I decided to start work on making them more Komugi-ish!

Because the socks are.. well.. socks, it's hard to sew stuff onto them, but I didn't want to sharpie anything on them (since.. well.. being honest, sharpied Komugi socks never look all that great. Just being honest!). So instead with the help of Shido the motifs have been sewn on by hand whilst on my leg :D so far I have 1 little star and the moon sewn onto one sock, and a pile of small stars and a great big star for the other sock cut out and ready.

Here's how the first sock looks so far! (and yes this is on the wrong leg lol.)

If both socks turn out as good as the first two motifs have, I will be very very happy indeed ^____^

Anyway!

Firstly - I have a job interview tomorrow!! So I might get a job after the horrors of TJ Hughes~! I do hope so, eee, I surely do - I need me some money for summer, lol. Where I've applied to is REAL close too, so it'd be 10 mins walk there and back before and after my shifts which is awesome. Wish me luck~!!

And secondly, for summer I now have no excuses to overspend too much. Unless it's for cosplay/food/travel etc, I have no need to make any major purchases at all over the summer! Unless it's a tiny dollberg - which I refuse to buy until I find a reasonably priced one, and until I have a job!

But let's break it down. This year, of major purchases, I have bought the following:

Shiny DSLR camera

Shiny point and click camera

Shiny tablet laptop "baby-berg" as I call it..

Far too much shiny Stila makeup :x and a Stila makeup box too!

Annddd most recently (as in this morning), I'm getting pretty much the only other Stila item I wanted - a pink Asia-exclusive brush set from dearest mother and Shido for my birthday! I bought a Stila makeup box a while ago from Malaysia and the same girl is selling the brush set. She was great to deal with before and now it's finally means I have.. well.. Stila everything make-up wise, and can no longer complain I hate my makeup brushes!! :D
Really I don't think I need any more makeup at all, unless it's specifically for cosplay or whatever (and even then, I have pretty much everything I think I'd ever need.. lol) so that's another hole in my pocket gone! The only time I'll need any more is if I run out of what I have, and that shouldn't be for a long time!

Now it means that since I have these, and all my other stuff, LOL, I can save some money up!! Which I had better do. Next year I want a HOLIDAY, as in going somewhere abroad and not a convention (they don't count!), and I want some money in the bank this year. So it's time to get saving!

So.. in other words, if you see me buying something that's expensive give me a smack, really, just do it XD

The shoes I ordered for the cat-ear cosplay arrived today (which I'm keeping secret for.. no real reason, lol, I just want to see if anyone can guess what it is. Which I doubt will ever happen)!

It's sort of disappointing.. they looked so much nicer online when I was ordering x_X

The fur on the shoes is ugh! Not like the pictures at all - its cheap and horrible. The shoes are fine, though, so no complaints there, its just the hideous fur really. So what I might do is cut the fur off, rather than trying to get a refund/exchange, then replace it with the marabou from the ears to make them furry myself (lol). I think it'd look nicer and I'd be able to put as much or as little as I want on the cuffs without it looking weird. I might try that soon actually.. the fur is attached with this hideous faux-leather skin THING, which actually split when I tried the shoes on earlier, so maybe replacing it myself would be better anyway?? Might make them easier to put on too lol. It's a shame though! At least they were only £20 I suppose, not a huge cost.. if I modify them myself it's not unreasonable for a decent pair of white shoes.

And also despite being so SKINT I ordered more makeup lol ;___; it's on sale and there was only 2 in stock!! And the product I bought it for is £2 more expensive elsewhere in the right colour, and the set includes extras! ... /excuses lol. Yeah.. my makeup box is pretty full now. But I should be looking ~*fabulous*~ for cosplays this year if it's any consolation? (or as fabulous as someone like me can look.. lol..) that and going out as well, lol, of course.

Imma still tidying my room. Seems like I look away and it's a mess again, lol. I swear one day it'll STAY TIDY!!

Tooth out, and Komugi shoes and bag progress!

I had a tooth taken out two days ago ;_____; so I am now Toothless McGubbins. Owww. I had awful toothache ughh so at least it's gone, and though it feels weird it's a back tooth.

But when I was in muchos pain after having it removed, I did more cosplay progress!!

My Komugi shoes are 90% done! All they need now is bows and they're done!! They're very comfy.. and so cute irl ^///^~ bunnies!!

Aaaand I finished my Komugi bag today:

It's made with.. this plastic curtain support stuff (for pelmets apparently? lol), foam, lots of glue, petersham for the strap and silicone sealant for the edges XD it's about the size as a standard 5-dvd box set, I modelled it off the Kare Kano dvd box haha so it's just bigger in size. Also means if I want my DVDs signing they'll fit nicely - they slide in with plenty space for purse, camera, etc so it's all good. The inside is a shambles but it velcros shut and looks pretty accurate on the outside!

I'm going to try finish up my shoes by adding the bows and starting work on the hat soon. I want Komugi done soon, eee :3

More cosplay stuff, toothache ;___;

My wig arrived today, for the outfit with the kitty ears! The curls were quite tight, a lot tighter than expected, but brushing it out made it look much more full and more like the character. It's still not 100%, but her hair's really really curly in huge curls, so I doubt I'd be able to match that without a custom wig job, and it's meant to be a fun simple cosplay so I'm not spending more than I need to on this outfit!

I need to fix the ears a little though. Just to make them a bit better when on the wig. They look a bit odd atm, sort of.. unfinished? I should probably add the little hat bit to it too though I suppose. I'll be doing that tomorrow hopefully!! But I suppose all I really need now is the tail and outfit doing. The shoes I'm not going to modify when they arrive, even though they do need some to be accurate I'm not going to bother to not destroy them for normal wear. And the tail.. that's gonna be tricky.. I might sew 2 long tails together to get the length for the tail I need, haha, 1 won't be enough I think XD

I'm hoping to get Komugi's shoes finished soon (need pompoms, the wings finishing and the bows and they're done) but it feels like there's so much left to do on Komugi!! Some socks arrived today and they're too purpley. Back to the drawing board ... these socks are gonna be difficult enough as is when I handsew all of the details, but there seems to be no end of problems with them!!

I also have awful toothache ;____; I have an appointment on thursday to finally have this tooth removed haha. And I have no motivation to actually do stuff at all. Ahdksjahfs. I've spent all day playing Platinum aghh.

Also is it just me or is the censored version of this song much better than the uncensored version? I dig all of the glitchy parts and extra noise in the broadcast version. The swearing just makes it sound vulgar :|

Don't mind the fat leg and the pins sticking out, but!! PROGRESS!!

In other words, I've nearly finished 1 of Komugi's shoes.. lol once they're done I think I might post more progress shots XD; they've been great fun to work on! And they've cost next to nothing.. used excess foam lying around, old Komugi material, old fleece (from like.. 5 years ago??) and a load of sellotape to get this far!

It's strangely comfortable too - they're based on some £10 flats from New Look, lol. I think I'll have to invest in a pair to actually wear rather than just cannibalise, for a tenner they're not bad for the summer, and they're finally some flats!

So all's left now is the bunny's face, the bow and the wing to sew on, and this shoe is done! Then there's the other one, but that should be easy too! Hurrayyyy!!

Sooooo... yesterday I walked out of work lol :| I only found out yesterday that they wanted me to work 9-5:30 today without asking me if I was available and monday 2-"END" for stocktaking, again, without asking. And err I have 2 deadlines on the tuesday? No can do. I asked if I could change and apparently I was "needed". I said I was going to be leaving in a week anyway and was going to hand a letter in on sunday to declare so. Diane told me the only way I'd be able to leave and not work another day was to hand in a letter that day saying I was leaving. So needless to say instead of going back on my shift I went to Uni, wrote a letter declaring my leave, printed it and then handed it in to work. Lol. Nothing rude or offensive, just an understandable letter expressing my leave and my concern over the lack of communication within the company that was forcing me to leave. When I handed it in Diane hadn't realised I'd been away to write it. Apparently it was very rude to leave during my shift. But when else would I get a chance to write and hand in a letter when I was scheduled to work until the store closed? I don't think that's all that rude to do what she asked and prioritise.

It was bad to leave without saying I was going to, but honestly, if *I* have no manners I dread to think how badly theirs are when they run as such a shambles. At no point of ever working there have I been asked if I want to do overtime by a superior (the one time I agreed I swapped shifts with someone and she asked me, not a superior), nor have I ever been asked if I was available on certain days, I was just scheduled in whenever they felt like and told I had to do it like it or not. No joke.

And after all what's the point in having a job to support me through University life when I could fail University if my work isn't done because I'm in work all the time? Not worth it that's what. So byeee TJ Hughes!! Been nice knowing you and taking advantage of your lovely special offers and discount but University is MUCH more important than money atm. I have an overdraft. Until I find another job I'm sure I can survive :|

Also, on a MUCH happier note, in a fit of glee and pride yesterday after handing in said letter I also bought a NEW SHINY BABY~ Meet Eve the Shiiiiny Laptopberg!

Call me foolish but ugh so nice (I've been wanting this for like 3 months now) and I was in just the mood to buy it. I have enough to cover it for now from work pay (I'm due about £300 in pay if not a little more?) and the rest of my bag fund that's left over can go toward it too, and as long as I don't go spendin' oodles on stuff like I have been I should be fine! It's another tablet and it's very nice and easy to use and it's so pretty - it has designs all over the body and lots of new funky software included. Do love!

This also means the only thing left that I need to buy from my "list" for this year is a PSP and a tiiiny dollberg. And I think I'm getting a PSP for my birthday from mum+sister so hopefully all that will be left is tiiiny dollberg, and considering I've lived without another dollberg for nearly 2 years? It's not urgent. Lol. So now I has laptopberg I can get back to saving!! :D

Uni work, stress & the grand cracking open of ye olde bag fund

Feels like I haven't posted anything meaningful here in a while, lol.

I've been geeking myself over at my university blog and doing work irl so I've had little time to hobo in LJ :/ but after the 19th my projects are doneeeee!! and then I've got 1 exam on the 28th and I'm freeeee! I'm really enjoying my cel project, it's just a shame I've got so much left to do, ughhh, but fun indeed. My animation however is.. less than done. Less than started even. Or at least the editing for it .. which is pretty much the whole project. Oops?

In any case! Recent goings on

I went to see Coraline on wednesday!! So cute :D I loved it! Stop motion is so much fun.

I've had a tin since Christmas for my "handbag fund" (you know, those silly money box tins that you see in gift shops) that I've been saving spare £1 and £2 from my purse into. Surprisingly, I've not been that bad off from saving a little now and again, and it's really mounted up. I decided that because the bag I initially wanted would cost equivalent of £110, and my tin probably had more than that in, I was gonna crack it open and reap the spoils.

So I did. And inside, there was 80 million quid.

..Ok, so that's a lie, but totalled up, there was £236 and then £4 in my purse so I had £240 to play with!! I gave £30 of it away to sister, mum and Loli (£10 each) and went crackers with the rest in town and onlineeee :D

Firstly I asked about the bag I wanted. It's a Paradiso Caramella and it's sooo cuuuuteee but at $125 +$30 shipping it's expensive for what it is. Summing it up, it's 2 pieces of fabric and a zip. Nothing more. And it's pretty small. So first, I was reconsidering it from that. Then with customs as it is .. let's just fill this in. I had a parcel priced at the equivalent of £11 that was caught and I was charged MORE than what it cost in the first place in customs. Technically it's illegal that they did that (customs charges should only apply to items over £18 equivalent), but no doubt they'll find some stupid loophole or they'll blame me or something for their stupidity. But anyway, I'm sure anyone would agree, I'm not keen on spending £110 on a tiny pouch just to be charged another £30/£40 on top for the privilidge, especially when customs have been horribly slow at processing parcels lately :/ so screw that.
I kindly asked the seller and they said they weren't willing to drop the price on the customs label so it's pretty much guaranteed it would get caught. Udiailjdslf so angry. It's the best placement ever but it's not worth £150, no way.

Sooo instead of tiiiny bagberg I splurged on a dress, belt and some new shiiiny shoes :D The shoes are so gorgeous!! I'm probably not gonna wear them too often since they're more formalish than I usually wear but omg :x couldn't not. They'll be lovely in the summer!
I'm tempted to return the dress though :/ the shop advertised it as a dress, when the company do a longer version that's a dress and what I bought is a top. Ufghgjkds apparently they do returns though. I've got the reciept and everything so I'll probably sort that sometime..

Though blagh lol this bag fund hasn't been spent on bags now has it?? Well I thought that too lol until me and Shido went into TK Maxx :x they had a few Harajuku Lovers bags which were cute and while I didn't buy any then (they didn't have any styles/prints I really liked) me and Loli lurked our way up to the TK Maxx hunting for more HL bags in better styles and prints at Kingston Park and found thisssss amongst the bags!!!

It was £59.99. Omfg! Mine! And there's no fugly horrible baby on it either >:£ yayyy!!! the cheapest I've found one online (excluding shipping) is like £90 lol bargain!

And of course with new bag I need new charms/keychains ;___; so I put in a small order to Strapya which is lower than the customs limit so I should be safe! But surprisingly I've still got about £30 left from my £210, and if I return the dress and belt I bought I'll have about £70 left total? Lol oh dear! I like having a little bit of money to play with though so it's all great :D

I don't want to put a downer on this post since it seems most happy but lately I've had a lot of stress and ugh going on regarding stuff from a few months back. And I've had some pretty awful news. And work is awful too. I hate most of the people I work with with about 3 exceptions and the work is terrible. No organisation at all. There's so many things slowing me down lately and making me want to give up altogether. Sooo.. yeah.. just thought I'd put that out there :/ not going into details but ugh. I just wish dramas would end.

But in any case.. back to Uni workin'.. lol.. have to get this stuff done ;__; wibble.

Oh man. Why is it when I decide a doll for $400+ is unreasonable I find one that's smaller and costs at least another $200..? Ughh I have so many more important things to be buying than a doll! Especially not a tiiiiiinyyyy~ dollberg!

I still need to buy my camera, laptop, PSP .. lol the list goes on. Apparently I might be getting my laptop soon though!!! omfg I do hope so. I can buy it anytime really but I'm being patient!

I just keep thinking.. I'm nearly done with buying Tokidoki bags until new prints come out, and even then I don't like new ones too much.. I'm *nearly* done buying up what feels like a mountain of Stila makeup.. so once I kick the camera and laptop off the list maybe then it'll be acceptable..?! It's still expensive but oh man! so cute! so photogenic! I'd like.. take that thing everywhere :x

My Melodia arriveddddd!! 19 days though.. took forever to arrive and it only turned up today because I complained at parcelforce x_X has nurseberg though!! and gangsta adios lol. It's so cute:

All I need now is a new camera for it! Woo lol. I've decided imma gonna get the Canon Ixus 95 IS :x cause it's pretty and takes really nice photos!! £176 is the cheapest I've found it but I'm prolly gonna buy it in town where it's £199 cause I get good cover. Either way though I wants it and dearest mother is paying half toward it as my bidoofday pressie!
I'm prolly gonna wait until the price drops a little more though if I can do. But I do need a new point-n-click :(

Off work, Phantasy Star PSP

I called in ill for work yesterday. I was completely dead in bed even though I wanted to go in, get it over and done with. And as always Diane was so wonderfully unsympathetic.. but at least she agreed to let me have the day off. Just.

My tokidoki stuff arrived though!! My beloved hoodie & 3 t-shirts (including nurseberg <3) arrived last week. But.. my Melodia from JapanLA hasn't. And it's been 2 weeks now. I've e-mailed them asking but I've not had a reply. Customer service much? I'm leaving it another few days and if it STILL hasn't turned up I will send a nice and calm but angry e-mail to them. They're quick enough to sort the order and post it out, but when it comes to having an issue with a missing parcel ignorance is NOT the best way to deal with it .. and I can't exactly afford to throw away £60 because they're too lazy to get in touch with me over an issue to do with their courier. When they charge $30 for shipping I expect good customer service and at least a tracking number for my order, but I've not had anything like that at all!

On friday though I bought Phantasy Star Portable for the PSP. I've been wanting some good new PSP games after I feel I've exhausted Gurumin for the time being, and it was there, lol, dunno when it came out though, I think it's pretty new.

It's actually pretty good, a few strange quirks but a good game, it reminds me a lot of .Hack// for story and battles and such, and Tales of the World for.. general premise, characters, etc. A lot of different things really. It's good fun though! I remember fiddling with the online version ages ago (I think I got to like level 5 or something..) but I never really picked it up because it was difficult to get into. And well I've no idea how far I am in this version but it's a lot of fun and I understand what I'm doing.

The only gripe is that some of the bosses are EVIL, ugh, flying bosses, how are you meant to hit something that's flying around in the air?! Or underwater even! Guns can only do so much! That and Vivienne is VERY annoying. And what's with your character being the strong, silent type? Not too keen on that either, but it doesn't really get in the way that badly I suppose.

In any case I'm running the bath so .. laters! :D

My hoodie and t-shirts are due to arrive today from DHL. I've been waiting up all morning excited for them arriving because I want them and the tracking says it should arrive today.

I checked the tracking and right as I did the door knocked. Gleefully I gallopped down the stairs to get my beloved stuff.

..It wasn't my parcel.
